Please note that Calvary Clinic is no longer functioning with a docter. This site is up only for historical information. INTRODUCTION Welcome to Calvary Medical Center! Here in Wamena, in the heart of Papua, Indonesia, we have a passion to care for those who suffer both physically and spiritually. Hand in hand with Papuan staff, the medical center serves as an outreach ministry of the Evangelical Church of Indonesia - Gereja Injili Di Indonesia (GIDI), providing medical and spiritual care for those in need. This provides exciting opportunities to share the Gospel with patients. Calvary's patients come from the local population, medical evacuations - often via Helimission and MAF - and referrals by local pastors and missionaries. It's here that our core purpose really comes to life - the spiritual and medical mentoring of Papuan health workers. Many Papuan Christians are eager to learn and to serve their fellow Papuans, and opportunities to provide this training and discipleship abound, both at Calvary Medical Center and in the remote villages of the interior. Calvary Medical Center is a beacon of compassionate care by local Christians to their neighbors, walking in the footsteps of Christ who always has a heart of love for the sick and the lost. |
